Rare, 1994 VW LHD Westfalia California Exclusive, 5 Speed 2.5 Litre Petrol, 4 berth Hightop Campervan. New MOT till 7th April 2023.

I purchased this rare but sought after example from a customer at my my MOT/ Repair garage.
You could say it was somewhat of a BARN FIND, as his customer kept it for several years in memory of their father to whom it was registered. A new MOT was issued back in April 2021 with 4 tyres fitted.
Well, since then I've been so busy with sales and any spare time devoted to living like a rockstar on my boat out fishing. So I’ve only just got around to cleaning it up, fitted a couple of new 110Ah habitation leisure batteries and taking the photos.
The vehicle drives all good without any known faults, really smooth and a joy to drive in fact. However It still requires some TLC as follows:
Paint / Lacquer peel mainly to the roof but also on the offside sliding door. I haven’t managed to figure out how to re-set the control panel for getting the diesel heating to operate or the fridge. All window blinds could do with retentioning
V5 registration document showing just one former keeper since April 2004 when imported and put on UK plates
New MOT till 7th April 2023 at a mileage of just under 15,000 Miles. Note this mileage is incorrect (Note in Service Booklet stating speedo change 01/04/2006 at a reading of 143,704 KM)
Summary:
A really nice clean solid example with no previous welding or rust that I could see, no nasty dents or scrapes, in-fact with some TLC and a visit to the paint shop the bodywork could then be described as perfect/ A1 Mint. The interior is in really good order throughout with the seats having covers on to protect the original fabric. The cabinetry is also good throughout.
I am also very impressed with the build quality for a 1994 vehicle it really was top of the tree.
What with being a four berth hightop, with a rear washroom sporting a cassette toilet, this beauty is going to be desirable to many, and should make for a good investment what with ever increasing prices.
So I've described this vehicle as best as possible, highlighting known faults as well as singing its praises.
